Happy 75th and many more!

Lee,

It is truly a pleasure to have you as my dad. As I am thinking of what I’d like to say to you right now, tears are welling up. You see, you are such a role model to me and my family and we are so blessed to have you in our day-to-day lives. Where do I even begin? I think about how you read your Bible every morning to start the day out right. I admire your quiet faith and integrity and you truly are Jesus’s “hands and feet”.  You are so selfless and willing to give without ever expecting anything back. The way you love and serve your wife is so rare and the joy you get in doing it is such an example of the wife and mother I desire to be. Thank you.

We have had some fun times with you that I will always treasure…. snorkeling in Hawaii (or remember the donkey? that came up to the car and stuck his head in and you were trying to roll up the window but it wouldn’t work cause Eric was holding the lever down), seeing your patriotism in Washington DC, tubing behind the boat in the freezing cold Willamette River with the kids and flipping the tube (almost gave me a heart attack), seeing your smiling face at work every day, gashing your head on the rv whenever we go camping, having high tea at the Empress in Victoria, singing “Dashing through the snow…” all year long, taking time off from work to go to the fish hatchery with Madison’s school, teaching my kids to have a sense of humor. There are so many memories, too many to even try to list!  You live life to its fullest and have fun doing it. I’d like to do the same.

We also are a good team when it comes to eating meals together-I do the cooking (and get some pointers from you on the “right” way to do it 😉 ). You do the clean up-I don’t like to clean up and you don’t like to cook so it is a win win situation.

I consider myself and my family blessed that you live near us and we can share life together. Looking forward to many, many more memories to make with you!

April
