Happy 75th Birthday, Lee!
You have been such a blessing to me and to my family in so many ways, Lee! When you and Susan lived here in Grass Valley, I knew I could always count on you to lend a helping hand if Mel or I ever needed one (day or night), which we did – more than once!
When our car broke down in town one night – we called you and you came to pick us up, and you even made two trips to get us all home safely seat-belted in your car! When Mel needed help with our remodel – you came over; ready to do whatever was needed. When we almost ran out of gas on our trip to the “Lost Coast”, you and Susan stayed right there with us until we found (barely) enough gas to get us back to the highway. When Mel was hurt at Rollins Lake, you and Susan were there for us. When I needed a “dad” to walk me down the aisle when Mel and I renewed our vows, you were there for me. These are but a few of the times you willingly offered your love and support to us, Lee. You live out your life by being an example of a man who truly has a servant’s heart, and you are truly a blessing to those who have the honor of knowing you.
Your patience and long-suffering has been demonstrated to me time and time again. I’ll never forget the many late Wednesday nights in Grass Valley when you patiently sat at your computer in the den while Susan and I sat on the sofa and talked and talked and talked into the wee hours of the night. You were as quiet as a church mouse until you’d suddenly make a comment and share your thoughts from the other room. You were – and still are -our very own “peanut gallery”.
My family and I cherish the memories we’ve made by sharing so many adventures with you and Susan over the last decade or so, and we look forward to making lots more!
We love you, Lee!
